FOOTBALL FEVER

I know its a lil late to talk about the EURO 2008 which started about 3 weeks ago...but, it havent ended so the football fever is still on rite? Being a gal, i'm not a great fan of football. I just check on the match schedule and get updated with the score once the match ends. The only time I catch the live matches are during world cup. Well for me, i find football matches as being more than just a game. Its the season of winning or losing the bettings, stayin up late and being late to work or school, finishing up all the junk foods and beer cans in the refrigerator, increase in the mamak stall sales and wherever u turn, u can see supporters wearing their favourite team's jersey.
For those illegal bettings...When a guy win the bettings, a great treat awaits all his friends but once he looses, i guess he only end up havin 'roti canai' and 'ais kosong' for the rest of the month. This is also the season where all the boys get home early and be mummy's boy!! Actually, they get home early to hit the bed so that they can wake up at wee hours and be fresh catch the football match live! Unbelievably, during this season, their ears are so sensitive to alarms where they can wake up on time to make sure they dont miss even a second of the match. Will this miracle ever happen when it comes to wakin up early to be on time to school or work? Hell no!!For most of the college students, they tend to lepak in mamak stalls drinking their favourite nescafe or 'milo ais' the entire night till the match ends...Early morning classes??Of course it'll be "I'm sorry prof, i was having headache" or "My bike got punctured"...all the same old lame excuses!!
For those women who have boyfriends or husbands who are football fanatic, u can forget about askin them to accompany you for shopping or movies till the season ends. They will come up will all sort of excuses "I heard there's a sale next month, why dont u postpone your shopping?" or "I heard the movie isnt very enjoyable". Hmmh...well ladies, just bare with it!
This is something that cannot be changed no matter how many years passes by cause this is the amount of influence, football plays in a guy's life. Football is their buddy no matter how old they grow. This is how they will be till the season ends. Boys, will be boys.
